UBS's global head of exotics trading got a big job at hedge fund Millennium

As we wrote a few months ago, French equity derivatives traders have been popular in 2026. Now Millennium hired a fine example of this species from UBS.

Gauthier Amiot has just joined Millennium's London office as deputy head of global volatility arbitrage according to his LinkedIn profile

Millennium didn't respond to a request to comment and Amiot didn't confirm this.

Amiot is French. Even better, he went to Ecole Polytechnique. He's trodden a strong route from SocGen to Goldman Sachs to UBS to the hedge fund. UBS may have liked to retain him; he'd been there eight years.

Amiot will be based in Millennium's London office. This is the location of Peter Santoro, Millennium's co-head of equities, who has been hiring.

Volatility arbitrage traders trade discrepancies between the expected future prices of assets. UBS may now need to find someone to replace Amiot, but it will be hiring in an already busy market.
