Milward spent 10 years at Goldman Sachs, where he worked in ECM and corporate broking before he was let go in January 2023. He didn't actually leave until April 2023 according to the FCA register. And then he reinvented himself.
Milward moved away from public markets and found a job raising money for private equity and private credit funds instead. Now he's moved to Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management, where he's head of Nordic ad UK coverage, raising money for private equity, infrastructure, real estate and private credit funds.
Milward didn't respond to a request to comment for this article but as the UK IPO market flounders, private placements is a good alternative for ECM bankers without much going on. Expect more such moves in the future.
