Hedge fund Citadel hired a great wit from Google
Giuseppe "Gappy" Paleologo is not the only funny guy in finance. There is another, but he is new to the industry, having previously worked in tech: John Szatmary has left Google for Citadel where he is the new head of product security, based in New York City.

Szatmary does not take himself too seriously. He spent eight and a half years at Google, where he says he went from a senior engineering manager who "had an idea" to a "more senior engineering manager, director-like" twice over, with a mission to "prevent badness both internally and externally."
At Citadel, Szatmary says he will be tasked with "keeping secrets secret." Citadel isn't commenting, such is the secrecy.
Szatmary's witticisms seem to have come upon him at Google. Before that, he was talking about how he "ideated and incubated new products" and "built cross-functional teams." Maybe Citadel hired him for his wit, or for his badness mitigation abilities.
Paleologo meanwhile continues to regale the world with his poignant humour from his position as head of quantitative research at Balyasny. In one of his latest posts on Twitter he notes that after a big derisking everyone asks who cut capital and every portfolio manager denies that it was them and says they went on the attack. "This is like that priest who claimed chastity but got gonorrhea. And hemorrhoids," he says.
