Management Accountant
Overview

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our client's growing business on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive finance professional to take ownership of the management accounts function while supporting the wider business with financial insight, reporting, and strategic decision-making. Working closely with senior management, you'll play a key role in driving financial performance, improving processes, and supporting the continued growth of the business.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts
• Prepare cash flow forecasts, annual budgets and rolling financial forecasts
• Manage the monthly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Oversee the sales and purchase ledger functions
• Line manage and support the Business Administrator responsible for the sales and purchase ledgers
• Monitor inventory levels and produce stock and inventory reports
• Analyse product line profitability and provide detailed financial reporting
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage company expenses and identify opportunities for cost control and efficiency improvements
• Oversee sales finance activities and reporting
• Manage the credit control function to maintain healthy cash flow and minimise aged debt
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Produce financial KPIs, variance analysis and performance reports for senior management
• Maintain robust financial controls and identify opportunities to improve finance processes
• Support senior leadership with commercial analysis and strategic financial decision-making
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors and other key stakeholders as required
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal company policies

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
• AAT qualified, part-qualified, qualified (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) or qualified by experience
• Strong knowledge of management accounting, budgeting and financial reporting
• Experience preparing cash flow forecasts and balance sheet reconciliations
• Payroll experience is desirable but not essential
• Strong understanding of sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
