Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE3) - Customer Data Platform

Location: Hybrid, Vancouver, BC

Duration: 6-Month Contract

Overview

Seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join a Customer Data Platform team responsible for building and operating high-scale customer data services. This role will focus on scalable backend systems, APIs, platform services, and cloud-native architecture supporting mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs.
• Lead technical initiatives from design through production deployment.
• Break down complex features into deliverable components.
• Improve system scalability, reliability, maintainability, and performance.
• Guide architectural decisions and promote engineering best practices.
• Identify and reduce technical debt and operational risks.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor team members.
• Partner with stakeholders to define requirements, delivery plans, and technical solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong backend development experience using Java, Go, Python, or similar languages.
• Experience designing scalable, secure, and highly available distributed systems.
• Experience working in AWS or similar cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases and large-scale data modeling.
• Experience leading technical design and architecture initiatives.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring and supporting junior engineers.

Preferred Experience

• DynamoDB or large-scale NoSQL platforms.
• Multi-tenant platform services or shared infrastructure.
• Observability, operational excellence, and performance optimization.
• Leading initiatives spanning multiple teams and services.
