This role partners closely with senior leadership and requires insurance industry knowledge, financial modeling expertise, and the ability to turn complex data into actionable business insights.
Director, Insurance Finance & Accounting

Our client, a well-established P&C insurance organization, is seeking a Director, Insurance Finance & Accounting to join its leadership team. This highly visible role will be responsible for financial planning, forecasting, executive reporting, performance analysis, and strategic decision support across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
- Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and decision-making
- Prepare executive and board-level reporting, including variance analysis and key business insights
- Establish and monitor KPIs related to profitability, growth, expense management, and operational performance
- Partner with senior leadership to evaluate strategic initiatives, investments, and business opportunities
- Drive reporting automation and process improvements through BI tools, analytics, and emerging technologies
- Support enterprise expense management initiatives and identify opportunities to improve operating efficiency
- Translate complex financial and operational data into actionable recommendations for leadership
- Mentor and develop finance team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Insurance experience strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of statutory accounting highly valued Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A, strategic finance, or corporate finance
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing and developing teams
- Strong financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills
- Experience presenting financial results and recommendations to senior executives
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting and business intelligence tools
- Insurance industry experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of insurance accounting, reporting, and financial performance metrics highly valued
- CPA, CFA, MBA, CPCU, or similar designation preferred
