This member of the accounting team will be responsible for reviewing all sales related activities from an accounting perspective to determine proper recording and recognition of the revenue and set up of the opportunities. This position will work heavily in both our SalesForce and NetSuite environments. This position will play an integral role in the Companys compliance with the FASBs new revenue recognition standard. Responsibilities include internal reporting of sales related metrics, reviewing sales contracts and analyzing contracts for completeness and accuracy with respect to revenue recognition.

Responsibilities

• Review new customer contracts as well as amendments, for accuracy and completeness for both the information the customer signs as well as the opportunity set up within SalesForce.
• Play an integral role in the Companys compliance with the FASBs new revenue recognition standard.
• Review monthly and quarterly close processes for certain revenue related accounts (i.e., revenue, cost of sales, deferred revenue, and accrued A/R)
• Document revenue recognition position on new customer contracts.
• Review contracts to identify accounting issues and to monitor compliance with the company's revenue recognition policies.
• Assist sales and legal teams with contract negotiations by participating in discussions, reviewing draft contracts, and providing revenue recognition recommendations.
• Assist in the effort to provide guidance/training with groups outside of corporate accounting, including legal, sales and finance to ensure all sources of revenue are properly reviewed for accounting purposes and processed on a timely basis.
• Monitor industry/regulatory changes with respect to revenue recognition, and help develop new processes and policies to accommodate accordingly
• Support Sales and Operational teams
• Assist quarterly review and annual audit by external auditors in the areas of revenue recognition.
• Prepare and review reporting including revenue analysis and metrics
• Work with controller and assistant controller on technical accounting matters and implementation including ASC 606
• Manage special projects and perform duties as required

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or other relevant degree
• 2 or more years professional work experience or professional internships in finance or accounting or combination of experience, education, and superior performance
• Solid understanding of GAAP with a focus in revenue recognition
• Possess strong financial and analytical skills
• Well organized to focus on multiple tasks
• Deadline oriented
• Attention to details
• Proficient with MS Office, spreadsheets
• Ability to work both independently and as a team member
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
