You will have 5-7 years experience. You will help develop and execute a comprehensive regulatory and policy compliance strategy, conduct risk assessments, manage and resolve privacy issues, lead and execute projects, support core documentation and compliance efforts, and help review, enhance, and manage the day-to-day operations of Western Union's global privacy program.
You will be responsible for conducting risk assessments to determine where systems may be vulnerable to data privacy risks. You will be leading system and process improvements with business owners to enable safeguards and reduce risk. You will provide guidance to business teams on complying with the privacy program and its day-to-day business objectives. You will be aligning practical risk mitigation with business objectives and foster a risk-conscious corporate culture. You will be facilitating effective vendor risk evaluations around third parties.
You will evaluate and revise program controls, policies, and protocols working with legal and business partners. You will need experience supporting and developing policies, procedures, and internal controls working with a privacy or legal team and business owners to ensure company is complying with regulatory obligations. Previous experience as a paralegal with a law firm or in-house legal department would help to differentiate you from other candidates.
You will facilitate appropriate training on Western Union's privacy program. You will provide input into the design, maintenance, and testing of privacy safeguards across the enterprise. You will analyze existing and new privacy safeguards to determine the design and operational effectiveness of safeguards. You will assess privacy risks based on new or changing laws, regulations or business initiatives. You will need to provide SME advice on the development and improvement of privacy safeguards. You will partner with cross functional teams to document privacy program and program activities in accordance with regulatory and business requirements. You will work across cross functional groups to audit compliance efforts and benchmark against privacy compliance requirements in order to generate necessary reporting on privacy compliance activities for relevant stakeholders including boards, assessors, auditors, regulators, and business leaders.
