About this opportunity

We're redefining how technology is delivered and run across Lloyds Banking Group, adopting innovative technologies and moving faster to better serve our customers.

To do this safely, our technology must be resilient, available and responsive. We need to understand where our technology risks sit, whether our controls are keeping us safe, and how the landscape changes as we continue our transformation!

As a Technology Risk Consultant within our Infrastructure & Enterprise Systems Risk team, you'll help provide independent oversight of technology resilience risks across the Group. You'll work closely with Infrastructure, Engineering and Platform teams, supporting risk-informed decision-making and helping ensure controls are operating effectively to manage material risks!

You'll bring clarity to complex technology and risk topics, helping stakeholders understand risks, assess control effectiveness and make well-informed decisions through appropriate governance channels.

What you'll be doing

  • Support the effective management of IT Systems Risk across technology platforms, providing insight, challenge and advice to Risk Owners, Control Owners and Control Offices.

  • Review and assess issues, risk events and controls, applying sound judgement and constructive challenge to support effective risk management and governance outcomes.

  • Analyse operational and risk data from multiple sources to identify trends, themes and emerging risks, producing clear and decision-ready insights.

  • Support the embedding of controls across technology platforms, helping teams align with Group policies and standards and identify opportunities for automation.

  • Contribute to a forward-looking view of technology risk, considering resilience, change activity, third-party dependencies and emerging technologies.

  • Build effective relationships across technology, operations, risk and governance teams to support consistent and practical risk management.

What you'll need

  • Experience supporting technology risk management activities, providing insight, challenge and guidance to enable informed risk decisions.

  • Ability to analyse complex information and use data to identify trends, themes and emerging risks, translating findings into clear recommendations.

  • Knowledge of modern technology environments, including cloud platforms, infrastructure, networks, databases, storage and modern application architectures.

  • Experience working across technology, operations, risk and governance functions within a complex organisational environment.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective relationships and influence outcomes through collaboration and constructive challenge.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining technical and risk-related concepts in a clear and accessible way.

And any experience of this would be really useful

  • Experience working within IT Systems control domains such as reliable engineering, reliability and redundancy, asset management, change management, capacity management, incident management or disaster recovery.

  • Understanding of technology resilience and operational resilience risk management.

  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and their potential impact on the technology risk landscape, including AI, Digital Ledger Technology and Quantum technologies.
