Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Payroll Administrator to join our Education Specialist Team. You will be responsible for managing payroll services for a portfolio of schools ensuring accuracy, compliance and excellent client services at all times. This role is ideal for a very organised, quality focused individual with a strong ability to meet deadlines and foster a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Processing monthly payrolls for multiple clients.
• Manage the entire payroll process from start to finish, including pension processing and uploads for Teachers Pensions and Local Government pension schemes.
• Collaborate with clients to ensure seamless flow and maintenance of employee data, fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional service.
• Maintain meticulous records and a robust document control system, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a full audit trail of input.
• Stay up-to-date with company policies and tax legislation impacting payroll, always ensuring adherence and compliance.
• Prepare month-end journals and reports as needed for posting and audit purposes, contributing to the overall financial health of the organisation.
• Prepare and submit CIS submissions.
Key Requirements
• Previous experience of working in a bureau environment.
• Proven experience in managing payroll for multiple clients, ideally within a practice or professional services environment.
• Ability to generate and interpret payroll reports for both internal and client use, ensuring accuracy in reporting earnings, deductions, taxes, and pensions. Proficient in preparing payslips, year-end reports, and other payroll documents.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex payroll concepts and regulations to clients. Adept at building and maintaining relationships, providing clear instructions, and addressing client concerns with professionalism.
• Strong focus on accuracy with a keen eye for detail while ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
• Knowledge of HMRC legislation and Pension Auto Enrolment, coupled with the ability to work effectively with multiple clients and prioritise workload.
Additional Requirements
• A deep understanding of confidentiality and data protection laws regarding payroll processing, ensuring client and employee information is handled with the utmost care and security.
• Strong computer literacy and numerical skills, with experience using payroll software - familiarity with BrightPay would be desirable, although training will be given.
