About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled individual to join our investment team and support the development and implementation of MS Re's Asset Liability Management (ALM) and Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) framework.

You will analyse liability profiles, develop SAA proposals, assess capital efficiency, and conduct scenario analysis and stress testing. Working closely with Finance, Actuarial, Risk, Portfolio Management and the CIO, you will help optimise investment returns while aligning with regulatory requirements, solvency targets and risk appetite.

The role reports to the Head of Investment Strategy Development and serves as a key link between balance sheet management, investment strategy and portfolio implementation.

Your responsibilities

• Analyse liability cashflows, balance sheet characteristics and capital requirements to support ALM and asset-liability matching decisions.
• Develop and maintain the ALM and SAA frameworks, including optimisation models, strategic allocation, hedging and overlay strategies, aligned with risk, return, liquidity and capital objectives.
• Assess capital and solvency impacts of investment decisions, including SST optimisation, and produce investment income forecasts to support planning and budgeting.
• Lead scenario analysis, stress testing and backtesting to assess portfolio resilience and inform investment recommendations.
• Prepare investment proposals and recommendations for the AIC and other governance forums, working closely with Portfolio Management, Finance, Actuarial and Risk.
• Contribute to the continuous development of MS Re's investment methodologies, frameworks and governance standards.

Your profile

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or a related field; CFA, FRM or CAIA is a plus.
• 5-10 years' experience in ALM, investment strategy, asset allocation or capital management, preferably in insurance, reinsurance or institutional investing.
• Strong knowledge of ALM, fixed income, SAA, portfolio optimisation and solvency frameworks (e.g. SST, Solvency II).
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including modelling, scenario analysis and stress testing.
• Ability to turn complex analysis into clear investment recommendations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; proactive and collaborative mindset.
• Fluent English; German is an advantage.
