Credit/Lending Technology Business Analyst
Job Description
Citi Private Bank's Credit Platform system offers credit, collateral monitoring and risk management functions for the Asia region. We are looking for highly motivated, progressive thinkers with a proven track record who can join the Banking & Lending team as a Business Analyst to support this functional area.
The Credit/Lending Technology Business Analyst is accountable for the requirements management and business solution delivery of critical / complex projects. The analyst directly / indirectly works with business and functional partners to analyze requirements. Demonstrated ability of executing transformational initiatives. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple functional areas and applications; how they collectively integrate to meet and deliver against business objectives.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct requirement sessions; analyze business requirements to understand the underlying intent, business drivers and impact to business and operational processes
  • Analyze and understand data flows across various upstream and downstream applications. Capture/document data/process flows, data flows, user journeys using tools like Visio, etc.
  • Translate high level requirements into detailed level requirements/use cases/user journeys (e.g. business requirements documents, functional requirements documents, user stories, etc.); understand technical implications of features and how to break down into stories/requirements to enable development team to understand scope.
  • Single point of contact for the development team for requirements. Maintain oversight of validation of business requirements
  • Makes evaluative judgments based on analysis of factual information; resolves problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.
  • Directly impacts the business by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; impacts own team and closely related work teams.
  • Groom and maintain the product backlog. Maintain traceability of requirements - from requirements to implementation.
  • Engage in quality assurance (QA) activities/testing as required - preparation of QA test cases, perform acceptance testing, partnering with the development team. Outline clear acceptance criteria, to clearly communicate the definition of success.
  • Maintain required project deliverables including reporting and tracking statuses using PowerPoint, Excel, Jira and Confluence
  • Able to write complex SQL queries, assist technical teams in analyzing issues and translate requirements if required
  • Coordinate with various business / operations / technology teams - cross-sector, cross geograhies to ensure correct understanding of business requirements

    Candidate Profile / Qualifications
  • 8-10 years of experience working in strategic/transformation initiatives
  • Must be proficient in analyzing complex issues and provide resolutions and translate these into resolutions and a solutions framework that benefits the business
  • Demonstrable proficiency and experience in the private banking domain including products and end-to-end operational processes. In Depth knowledge of processes in the credit and lending domain - e.g. credit origination, collateral management/monitoring and risk management functions.
  • Ability to analyze complex domain concepts and present them with clarity and purpose.
  • Strong cross-group collaboration and relationship management skills including collaboration with geographically dispersed teams to achieve deliverables
  • Strong skills in developing relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to negotiate and engage various stakeholders
  • Continuous evaluation of customer satisfaction and value perception.
  • Ability to work as a partner with strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to connect and build solid cross-functional relationships with stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams. Ability to influence, negotiate and engage to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to embrace chaos and adapt quickly
  • Outstanding presentation, written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate business/technical concepts effectively. Visual communication and storytelling
  • Highly motivated and self-directed; exhibits thought leadership and strong critical thinking skills. Self-initiate, work productively when unsupervised, perform well under pressure, comfortable with ambiguity and multitask across multiple concurrent projectsTechnical:
  • Understanding of technologies such as Java/J2EE, Micro services and Dev ops
  • Familiarity with UI/UX, Kafka/JMS or derived JMS technologies, Data Management and RDBMS (SQL, Sybase or Oracle)Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
  • PMI-BPA or certification desirable
