(Senior) Director AI Engineering

As a (Senior) Director AI Engineering, you will shape the strategic direction of our AI Engineering practice while leading large-scale AI transformation programs for global clients. You will combine commercial leadership, technical expertise, and people leadership to build scalable AI capabilities, develop innovative AI offerings, and expand Simon-Kucher's market position in enterprise AI.

Working closely with senior client executives, partners, technology providers, and multidisciplinary teams, you will drive the adoption of AI at scale while growing both our client relationships and our AI Engineering capabilities. This role can be performed fully remotely within Poland.

The salary for this position ranges from PLN 34 000 to PLN 35 200 gross per month under an employment contract (UoP), depending on the candidate's relevant experience, skill set, level of expertise and overall fit for the role. Additional factors such as industry background, technical competencies and interview performance may also influence the final offer. The compensation package at Simon-Kucher CBS consists of a gross base salary, a monthly remote work allowance and an annual bonus. The bonus is paid in December and is based on the results of a 360-degree performance evaluation.

How you will create an impact:

• Define enterprise AI strategies, operating models, and AI transformation roadmaps for global clients.
• Advise executive stakeholders on the adoption of Agentic AI, Generative AI and enterprise architecture.
• Lead multiple AI transformation programs while ensuring delivery excellence across complex client engagements.
• Build and grow long-term client relationships and identify opportunities to expand AI engagements.
• Drive commercial growth by shaping proposals, developing new AI offerings, and contributing to business development activities.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams of AI engineers, consultants, and technology specialists while fostering a high-performance culture.
• Establish engineering standards, AI operating models, governance frameworks, and reusable methodologies across projects.
• Drive capability development through thought leadership, reusable intellectual property, accelerators, and innovation initiatives.
• Collaborate with strategic technology partners and contribute to Simon-Kucher's long-term AI strategy and market positioning.

Your profile:

• You have 7+ years of experience in AI Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, Software Engineering, or Applied AI.
• You have a university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• You combine strong AI expertise with commercial experience across pricing, sales, marketing, and customer experience.
• You have experience in leading technical projects and take on ownership of technical solutions.
• You have strong people leadership experience and enjoy coaching, developing, and growing technical teams.
• You have demonstrated success in business development, proposal development, and expanding client relationships.
• You have knowledge of Power Automate or similar workflow automation platforms.
• You are strong in Python, including API development and integration patterns.
• You have deep hands-on experience delivering LLM-based solutions (RAG, tool calling, agentic workflows) with LangChain and/or LangGraph or similar AI orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with Azure ecosystem (AI Foundry, Container Apps, Functions).
• You communicate clearly in English (C1+) and can align technical decisions with business constraints.
