As part of Capital.com's expansion into the Japanese market, you will own the finance and regulatory finance operations for our Type I Financial Instruments Business. The role covers daily client asset segregation and trust protection calculations, statutory and regulatory reporting, financial close, cash-flow management, tax matters, and audit coordination. Because we are in the launch phase, you will help build finance controls, reporting processes, and governance evidence from the ground up, working closely with local management, compliance, operations, and the global finance team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily client asset segregation and trust protection calculations and reconciliations under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, and prepare transfer or payment instructions to trust banks.

• Manage daily, monthly, and annual accounting close processes, including operation of accounting software and preparation of financial statements.

• Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory reports, including capital adequacy ratio reports, business reports, and other filings required of a Type I Financial Instruments Business operator.

• Manage cash-flow planning, treasury administration, tax matters, payment controls, and bookkeeping records.

• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, trust banks, and internal stakeholders, including global finance and local compliance teams.

• Design and maintain finance procedures, reconciliation controls, approval evidence, and regulatory reporting working papers.

• Support the financial instruments business registration and launch-readiness workstreams from a finance and client asset protection perspective.

Requirements:

• Finance or accounting experience at a Type I Financial Instruments Business operator or similar regulated financial institution (3+ years, or equivalent demonstrable capability).

• Practical knowledge of client asset segregation, trust protection, and capital adequacy ratio calculations.

• Working knowledge of financial statements, statutory books, accounting software, and daily, monthly, and annual close processes.

• Practical knowledge of client asset segregation, trust protection, and capital adequacy ratio calculations.

• Nissho Bookkeeping Level 2 or equivalent accounting knowledge.

• Ability to prepare accurate reconciliations and regulatory reports, and to maintain audit-ready evidence.

Nice to have:

• English proficiency (to coordinate monthly reporting and account mapping with the global finance team, and to work with IFRS materials).

• Certified Public Accountant or Certified Tax Accountant qualification.

• Experience at a securities firm, FX/CFD broker, fintech company, or launch-stage regulated financial institution.
• Experience with accounting systems such as Kanjo Bugyo or equivalent software.

• Familiarity with IFRS and J-GAAP reporting bridges.
