The Tax Associate works with the India Tax Specialist, Team Lead and Manager to extract invoices from client databases, identify & enter sales tax information from invoices to an access or excel database. Format and reconcile the data with source data from the client.
The Tax Associate works with the India Tax Specialist, Team Lead and Manager to extract invoices from client databases, identify & enter sales tax information from invoices to an access or excel database. Format and reconcile the data with source data from the client.

• Create a positive team experience.

Client:

• Proactive work status update to US / India liaison

• Downloading & extracting invoices from client networks.

Value:

• Identifying and entering sales tax details form the invoices into a database

• Reconcile the values from different data sources
• Prepare reports as per the requirements from consultants
• Analyze data from invoices and submit a summary report
• Perform peer to peer quality assurance review
• Prepare summary reports as per given criteria
• Communicate the project status, exceptions and updates.

Education and Experience:

• Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Finance/ Commerce/ Accounting/ Business
• 0-2 year experience.

Skills:

To perform the job successfully, the candidate should have a basic understanding of Tax and accounting concepts and excellent analytical & problem solving abilities. High attention to detail, ability to meet strict deadlines and good communications is critical. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, Internet navigation and research is preferred. Knowledge on sales tax refund process is a plus but not required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

• Current work hours are 2.00 PM to 11.00 PM, IST. Shift change is anticipated depending on US work hours/time zone and business need.
• Candidate should be willing to work on any shift.
• A reasonable amount of overtime will be required during peak season.
• Standard indoor working environment.
• Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
• Position requires regular interaction with employees in India and US both via e-mail and telephone.
