As a Software Engineer, you will focus on mentoring and leading others to deliver high quality, cost-effective technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
• Familiar with insurance business processes (Auto, Property, P&C lines).
• Eager to grow skills in PolicyCenter, message brokers, batch processing, and databases.
• Flexible, collaborative, and effective across diverse teams and domains.
• Strong understanding of ITSM principles and service delivery.
• Excellent communicator capable of simplifying complex technical topics.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, mathematics or related field is strongly preferred.
Experience:
6+ years of hands-on development and support experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter. Three years of experience in project management is preferred.
Technical Skills:
• 6+ years of hands-on development and support experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter.
• Experience with Guidewire Cloud, cloud deployment models, and architecture.
• 4+ years of experience in the P&C insurance domain.
• Strong understanding of API-driven architectures and integration patterns.
• Hands-on experience with source control and deployment tools such as GitHub and UrbanCode Deploy.
• Strong understanding of DevOps, SRE, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.
Preferred
• Experience in Personal Lines insurance, sales & servicing tech, or integration-heavy platforms.
Soft Skills & Attributes:
Hands-on technical leadership experience leading project teams and setting technical direction. Proficiency in one programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle sophisticated business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
