Australian Equities Investment Analyst | Hedge Fund

Overview:

A global multi-strategy hedge fund is seeking an Australian Equities Analyst to join an established investment team in Hong Kong. The role will support a seasoned Portfolio Manager with over a decade of experience, focusing primarily on Australian equities while contributing to research across Australia and China. The strategy emphasizes fundamental investing across consumer, internet, and cyclical sectors with a strong appreciation for differentiated views and macro awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct fundamental research and analysis on Australian-listed equities across a broad sector universe.
• Develop investment ideas with a particular focus on consumer, internet, and cyclical industries.
• Build detailed financial models and perform valuation analysis to support investment recommendations.
• Monitor company developments, industry trends, and macroeconomic factors impacting investments.
• Engage with company management teams, industry experts, and sell-side research providers.
• Support portfolio construction and risk management through rigorous research and idea generation.
• Collaborate closely with the Portfolio Manager to identify differentiated investment opportunities for Australian Equities.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of investment-related experience.
• Strong knowledge of Australian equities; exposure to consumer, internet, and cyclical sectors preferred.
• Open to candidates from hedge funds, long-only asset managers, private equity firms, or top-tier sell-side equity research teams.
• Demonstrated ability to generate differentiated investment views with an understanding of macroeconomic drivers.
• Willingness to relocate to Hong Kong for candidates currently based in Australia.
