My client is a leading financial services firm with a sophisticated technology environment supporting its business across the Asia-Pacific region.

The firm is seeking a C++ Engineer in Hong Kong to design and develop high-performance systems supporting critical financial applications.

This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone with strong C++ and computer science fundamentals who enjoys solving complex technical problems within a fast-paced financial environment.

Responsibilities

1. Design, develop and maintain high-performance applications using C++
2. Build scalable and reliable systems within a Linux environment
3. Develop and enhance multithreaded and distributed applications
4. Improve system performance, reliability and scalability
5. Work across the full development lifecycle from design and implementation through testing and production
6. Investigate complex technical and production issues and implement long-term solutions
7. Work closely with technology and business stakeholders across the region
8. Contribute to the continued development and improvement of the firm's technology platform

Your experience

1. Strong commercial C++ development experience
2. Excellent understanding of data structures, algorithms and computer science fundamentals
3. Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix
4. Experience with multithreading, concurrency and performance optimisation
5. Good understanding of systems programming, memory management and networking
6. Experience developing large-scale, distributed or performance-sensitive systems
7. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
8. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in an international environment
9. Experience within financial services or financial markets is highly advantageous
10. Exposure to trading, market data, risk, pricing or investment systems would be beneficial
