In your role as Group Development Lead you will be responsible for the technical oversight of development teams and acquired businesses and should have a hands on mentality to support the teams.

Our department is mainly responsible for the transition and scaling of the prototypes, generated by the innovation department, towards a fully integrated solution which our customers can rely on. Besides that we are also responsible for the enhancements & maintenance of existing products.

 

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

•Leadmultiple distributed & co-locateddevelopment teams across their agile development life cycles by engaging hands-on and sharing your technical excellence
•Identify and leverage cross application knowledge sharing and use of best practices & cross team support
•Set best practices and actively support fast, secure & reliable coding. Ensure technical development standards are matched
•Act as a trusted technical advisor for the teams and stakeholders
•Identify and address any gaps in internal tools and processes and drive changes to improve those so that teams can focus on efficient development
•Identify and address knowledge gaps, ensure common understanding across the teams
•Streamline cross-site processes and procedures
•Own and drive various aspects of quality assurance & security (secure coding)
•Define general technical needs of the team, train new hires and team to ensure they have the necessary knowledge
•Drive successful integration into the S&P Global platform

The Team / The Business:

We are a small, highly motivated team in a newly set up dIvision to scale innovation. We use agile methodologies to drive performance and we share and transfer knowledge as well as embracing methods such as pairing or lightning talks to do so. We are always trying to stay ahead of things and try to be “state-of-the-art“ and “cutting-edge“.

 

Knowledge & Skills:

•Master’s degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience
•Hands-on development experience in .Net, C#, Java & PHP environments. Knowledge of newer JavaScript and visualization frameworks
•Experience in implementing real-time analytics services using latest technologies and leveraging Cloud environments and services
•Experience in Big Data & Data Lake technologies such as HortonWorks, Cloudera and AWS. Good understanding and ideally practitioner of AWS cloud infrastructure and services. Understands and has used newer services from AWS to run and maintain applications in a corporate environment
•At least 3 year’s experience managing large (distributed) teams in a global organization. By doing so, experience with agile processes and running teams within a scaled agile framework environment (SaFE).
•Good understanding of related functions such as Information security (InfoSec.), Development Operations (DevOPs) & Quality Assurance (QA). Familiarity with their relevance, integration in the development lifecycle and newer technologies & processes in these areas
•Ability to effectively communicate & collaborate across multiple non-technical functions within the organization (e.g. Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Editorial)
•Effective problem-solving and analytical capabilities
•Strong English written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to nurture self-organizing, high performing teams through servant leadership and mentoring
•Ability to handle a high pressure environment


Preferred experience:

•Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability and high availability
•Hands-on experience with Blockchain technologies e.g. Hyperledger etc
•Hands-on experience in Business Intelligence technologies and implementing DWH & Data Lake technologies in large-scale organizations
•Experience in implementing Machine Learning, Deep Learning and AI concepts using latest technologies (e.g. AWS SageMaker. Comprehend and/or DeepLense)
•Experience in Mobile Development environments using native mobile languages as well as latest platform agnostic frameworks (e.g. React.native)
