Bank ABC is establishing a new subsidiary Bank in Paris, with new branches in Frankfurt and Milan. The development of the new subsidiary from the current branch in Paris, has created a new Chief Risk Officer role. The new bank will be a subsidiary of ABC International Bank in London.

Bank ABC offers trade and commodity finance, project, export and structured finance, treasury services and commercial real estate lending. We aim to attract, recruit and retain the best talent to make a positive contribution to the continued success of Bank ABC.


Bank ABC is establishing a new subsidiary Bank in Paris, with new branches in Frankfurt and Milan. The development of the new subsidiary from the current branch in Paris, has created a new Chief Risk Officer role. The new bank will be a subsidiary of ABC International Bank in London.


This position will work in conjunction with the Senior Management team in Paris and the London Risk teams in relation to the European Risk function covering all classes of risk affecting the bank including, credit risk, market risk, operational risk and oversight of other enterprise wide risks.


The core focus of the role will include:

  • Effectively review and challenge decisions to help direct strategy setting and risk management
  • Contribute in the development of the ICAAP, ILAA, lead Stress Testing and RRP within the Bank and to external regulators as required
  • Engage with regulators and appointed team inspecting risk management function
  • Participate and present at various committees reporting on issues of significant risk concerns
  • Manage portfolio quality, provisions and credit losses across the credit risk area while at the same time managing market and operational risk through effective risk management policies


The role-holder will bring extensive leadership providing advice and guidance on all risk management matters as required. Provide leadership in the development and implementation of robust systems, procedures and controls with the objective of identifying, reporting and mitigating the key risks.


Utilising project management experience to this new opportunity together with extensive experience in planning and managing a team with a varied and complex delivery schedule, coupled with knowledge of risk reporting under the relevant regulatory requirement.

This role is primarily based in Paris with some travel as required.
