Your Role In this role you will besupporting the Appointed Actuary and the valuation team with statutory financialand capital reporting requirements by performing several key steps in thevaluation process.
Your Key Responsibilities - Maintenance and improvement of data preparation process for actuarial models, with particular focus on the Open Claims reserve data preparation.
- Contributing to the management and validation of modelling data, ensuring its accuracy and integrity for calculations.
- Running and maintenance of existing actuarial models with the aim of assisting the business to streamline the use of legacy systems.
- Regulatory and management reporting under various accounting and capital regimes including generation of cash flow projections on the various bases.
- Assisting with the update of best estimate assumptions and the impact assessments of proposed changes.
- Assisting with the quarterly capital calculations and updating required inputs
- Monitoring of individual client company results.
- Maintaining knowledge of current market trends, including life industry reporting requirements.
- Contribution to valuation projects, including process improvement, capital calculations for ongoing tenders and other ad-hoc projectsthat arise from time-to-time.
Your Profile Essential - Actuarial qualification (nearly or newly qualified)
- Minimum 4 years of actuarial experience, preferably in avaluation role.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the insurance and reinsurance industry, including AASB17, capital and reporting standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with actuarial software modeling, including coding experience.
- Able to work independently but collaboratively in a small local team.
- Contribute to and promote a positive and collaborative culture, with ability to follow through, show initiative and a commitment to quality.
Desired - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, R and SQL highly advantageous.
- Experience with Mo.Net and/or Prophet or GGY AXIS advantageous.
