The role:

As the Senior Commercial Manager, Business Development , you will develop and lead the development and delivery of new strategic partnership opportunities, a key part of the overall Personal Bank strategy. To be successful in this role, you will have experience in building and delivering partnerships to drive business growth and product development. This includes partnership assessment, commercial and contractual negotiations, operational model design, and managing internal approvals. You will have broad product experience with an understanding of risk and regulatory considerations in partnership models. The role will be responsible for designing value propositions and operating models with partners, and ensuring they are aligned to the bank strategy, and will deliver appropriate returns.

The day to day responsibilities will include:

  • New partner negotiation & onboarding: build out and manage the partnership pipeline, including commercial negotiations, onboarding, and execution
  • Partner assessment & approvals: work closely with key stakeholders including risk, data, and analytics, legal, finance and operations to complete due diligence, assess potential partnerships and manage internal approvals
  • Market review and assessment: continuously monitor market trends and innovation and globally to identify new distribution and proposition opportunities

What you will bring:

  • Demonstrated in-depth experience working in a similar role and a proven background in product and commercial management areas, working with external partners along with experience in the Financial Services sector
  • You will have a proven track record of quickly establishing and maintaining strong, positive working relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders internally and, external partnership management
  • Accustomed to managing multiple deadlines, but also comfortable when priorities shift
  • Previous working environment where stakeholders such as Controls, Risk or similar is a key stakeholder
  • Ability to design and develop new partnerships in financial services to drive business growth
  • Strong commercial and numeric capability to understand the key levers in partnership models
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills including ability to present to new and existing partners
  • Ability to understand end to end aspects of partnership models e.g., distribution, customer experience, pricing
  • Proficiency in proposal writing, excel and data analysis
  • Tertiary qualification(s), ideally in a financial or business related discipline
