AP+ brings together Australia's three domestic payment providers, BPAY Group, eftpos and NPP Australia, into one integrated entity. Bringing these businesses together enables AP+ to create a more competitive and coordinated Australian payments organisation that is strategically placed to respond to the impacts of regulatory and technological change today, and into the future.

The Purpose:

As a provider of globally competitive payment services, we are looking for a passionate, high-performing professional to join our team in Sydney. Our critical role in supporting the Australian payments ecosystem means we also need to meet regulatory obligations and expectations in order to keep the ecosystem reliable and safe.

We are undergoing an exciting Risk Transformation Program, so the purpose of the role will be to:
  • Support regulatory initiatives under the Program to uplift regulatory risk management practices and processes, and drive response to any regulatory change that requires transformation support; and
  • Continue to support our regulatory engagement and response activities in BAU once the Program is complete.

Your expertise will contribute to successful execution of regulatory initiatives and you will play a crucial role in ensuring our organisation remains compliant with these evolving standards.

Responsibilities of the role will cover the following key areas:
  • Assist in the resolution of regulatory inquiries, gaps, and enforcement actions.
  • Collate, review and submit documentation to Regulators, ensuring quality, accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
  • Support regulatory examinations, audits, and inspections by preparing documentation, coordinating meetings, and facilitating communication between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and attend meetings with Regulators, where needed, and maintain records of minutes for these meetings.
  • Manage document registers and change controls over documented submitted.
  • Manage the scope, schedule, resourcing for and maintain oversight of the delivery of agreed regulatory actions and initiatives.
  • Provide status updates on regulatory actions and initiatives with the Risk Transformation Program Manager and the Chief Risk Officer, and escalate any risks, issues or dependencies that may impact progress.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across the organisation to manage and respond to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the impact of new regulations on business processes, products, and services, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of regulatory compliance artifacts and controls to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

The skills & knowledge you need to have:
  • 3-5 years' experience in a regulatory analyst or regulatory response role.
  • Experience in dealing with regulatory requests and implementing new legislation.
  • High level understanding of regulatory landscape for payments or financial services (desirable)
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex requirements into actionable tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and the confidence to liaise with stakeholders across multiple levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to make sound administrative and procedural decisions and judgements aligned with agreed objectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexible mindset to support the team with any cross skilling as required.
