The Opportunity:

We're looking for a Product Manager, Advice Process & Research to join our entrepreneurial team. You'll have a deep understanding of financial planning & investment research to help advisers achieving process efficiencies while meeting compliance needs. With a proven analytical skillset developed through your work in financial advice or advice technology, you'll have a structured approach to your work, applying your domain expertise and technical capability to drive high quality outcomes for advisers using AdviserLogic & Adviser Research Centre. You will own our advice process software improvements and research offering, partnering with development teams to optimise our advice generation & research capabilities within our combined Marketplace offering.

You're a hands-on individual who is passionate about the value of advice, research & technology and the role it plays in delivering great outcomes to clients. Through your contributions, you'll help advisers run more efficient and compliant businesses, spend more time with clients, and deliver better outcomes.

Job Responsibilities
  • SME for our Advice workflow & Research capabilities
  • Subject Matter Expert on Financial Planning Strategies and End to End process
  • Support the Associate Director FP Products to derive insights & Perform business, product, competitor and market data analysis and seek to understand user workflows - Know our Product, Know our Customer, via weekly review and maintenance of Product Analytics Reporting (ADL/ARC/Marketplace Dashboards) & monthly Sales & Service engagement
  • Support Associate Director FP Products to create Target market, Competitor analysis and Customer awareness and reporting to help support continual optimisation of the product offering suite
  • Setting the pricing & GTM for AU ARC Research Product.
  • Act as the voice of the customer with reference to new feature requests and change requests.
  • Monitor and improve requirements drafting alongside product owners
  • Partner with Offshore Development Teams and Product Owners to refine and execute on the Product Roadmap. Examples including requirements (will be required for complex matters), Testing Criteria, User Acceptance Testing sign off, Prioritisation of New Feature Requests and Change Requests, Training and coaching
  • Through close coordination with Technology, Product, Client Service and Operations teams, help ensure product, operational and customer service excellence for our financial planning products.
  • Perform other duties as necessary from time to time.

What we'd expect you'd have on day 1:
  • 3+ years of product management, business analysis and/or paraplanning experience.
  • A working understanding of investment research products
  • A track record of successful product delivery in an agile environment.
  • Experience in dealing with offshore development teams
  • Prior experience working within the financial advice industry.
  • You'll be data-driven and understand how to use insights to support swift and effective decision making.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to make data-driven decisions and drive appropriate prioritisation in a fast-paced environment.

Other things that would be useful to have, but not necessary:

• Certifications in Product Management / Product Development / Financial Planning.
• Other relevant formal qualifications.

Morningstar's hybrid work environment gives you the opportunity to work remotely and collaborate in-person each week. While some positions are available as fully remote, we've found that we're at our best when we're purposely together on a regular basis, typically three days each week.
