How will I help? The key objective of this role is to support the persistent delivery teams within Secure Network Services Domain. Reviewing all BAU changes are aligned to the security standards and ensuring security controls and outcomes are delivered in a timely manner. This role will report into the Information Security Group (ISG) but will be work on a day-to-day basis with the SNS engineers as the delegate of the CISO ensuring that change is delivered securely.
The successful recruit will become part of our Secure by Design (SbD) team. SbD is a mature process within Westpac that's key accountability is to secure all change in the bank. SbD has traditionally focussed on project-initiated change. With this role we are expanding and tailoring the service to incorporate BAU initiated change.
You will:
- Ensure adherence to Enterprise Security Standards and implementation of appropriate security controls
- Perform Secure by Design for all BAU change performed by Secure Network Services
- Identify cyber risks and exceptions within the organizations Network infrastructure domain.
- Provide recommendations for risks mitigation based on assessments of controls.
- Interface into other security services, control owners etc
- Stakeholder management
- Apply your expert knowledge of Network Security and Network Architecture Principles in assessing network solution design against standards, policies and control frameworks.
- Analyse the potential impact of various threats, vulnerabilities on the organizations network infrastructure.
- Ensure all risks in the domain are documented and agreed, with clear ownership and remediation plans
- Report issues, successes and outcomes to People Leader and Head of SCA

What do I need? Essential - Network Architecture & Design / Network Engineer - 5-10 yrs
- Deep understanding of network security principles, protocols, and technologies
- Experience with firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
Desirable - Information Security Consultant - 5 yrs
- Strong understanding of security principles, methodologies, and frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, CIS Controls)
- Familiarity with Network devices: Juniper, Fortinet and NSX firewalls, F5 load balancers, Routers and SDWAN.
