Join us as a Marketing Manager in our Retirement Marketing team based in Sydney on a 12 Month MTC

  • We are looking for a proactive, collaborative, and self-starting Marketing Manager to join the team at a busy and exciting time for our brand and category.
  • This role supports our retail and institutional channels for our Challenger Life business.

  • We work flexibly from our Sydney CBD Office where you can expect to work 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
  • This role is available for a period of 12 months.

About the team

Our Retirement Marketing team is part of the wider Investment and Retirement Marketing team. This high-performing team of four, manages, develops, and implements the marketing strategy to grow and support the sales efforts in our retail and institutional channels for Challenger Life.

They are responsible for developing marketing strategies to achieve business and sales objectives. This involves the conception and implementation of fully integrated marketing campaigns tailored for primarily adviser, but also consumer audiences.

About the role

Reporting into the Head of Retirement Marketing, as the Marketing Manager you'll be at the heart of our campaign strategies. You'll dive into every detail overseeing everything from ideation to execution. Your role will involve crafting compelling briefs, managing digital assets, building landing pages, and coordinating social media efforts-all with the goal of delivering exceptional results. This is a role where you'll be very much on the tools , driving every aspect of our marketing efforts.

To achieve this, the team operates in a fast-paced and collaborative culture where proactivity and a can-do approach is required to manage the delivery of multiple campaigns running in parallel.

Other responsibilities can include (but aren't limited to):

  • Campaigns: Lead the development and execution of product marketing campaigns as well as tactical opportunistic campaigns. Plan and execute campaigns to drive awareness and conversion.
  • New product launches: Lead the marketing efforts for the launch of new product, including crafting messaging and content to effectively position the offering in market, driving increased awareness and consideration.
  • Value proposition and positioning: Develop clear value propositions and positioning statements for our offers and capabilities to resonate with our target audience.
  • Thought leadership & PR: Drive the thought leadership program collaborating with key stakeholders and identifying PR opportunities to position Challenger as a thought leader.
  • Activation and marketing support: Support the activation of our partners by providing marketing support for onboarding and growth initiatives.
  • Collateral & content development: Produce high-quality collateral materials, such as fact sheets, presentations, brochures, and case studies, while also generating engaging content for social media platforms, monthly newsletters, events, and website catering to all channels.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships: influence internal and external stakeholders and agencies to get campaigns to market on time, within budget and achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Risk focused: ensure strict compliance procedures are applied during the development of all campaigns, including managing the marketing sign off procedures.
  • Market Insights: keeping abreast of developments in the wealth management, superannuation and retirement income space and identify any industry trends or competitive insights that may contribute to new opportunities to support marketing and sales initiatives.

The skills you'll need.

To be successful in this role you will have at least 5 years "hands-on" marketing experience, with at least 1-2 of them at a manager level. Given the nature of our business it's essential that your marketing experience comes from within a financial services environment, ideally across wealth management, superannuation and/or retirement income space.

With a "Do-er" attitude you'll have proactive approach with a passion for working directly on the tools to get things done. You'll be passionate about digital marketing and experienced across paid and owned channels including email and social media.

You'll have experience working with marketing platforms such as Salesforce Account Engage, Sitecore, On24, Hootsuite or similar and content management and social media platforms.

As well as
  • Working knowledge of marketing automation and journey design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of sales and marketing principles and methods for promoting and selling products or services.
  • Being organised, driven and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder relationship management skills are critical. You will be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business and have a proven track record in multi-tasking and meeting deadlines.
  • A sound understanding of superannuation and financial advisers, how they operate and the issues they face.

Qualifications
  • Relevant Tertiary level marketing, communications, or business qualifications.
