The firm, and its interests are currently represented in 9 locations across the globe with Sydney to be its 10th and newest iteration, meaning you can play an instrumental role in a complete, ground up build of their IT infrastructure using the latest and fastest technology, concepts and techniques.

Responsibilities
As the first Linux Performance Engineer in Australia, you’ll play a crucial role in the design and ground up build and implementation of the firm’s low latency infrastructure with respect to x86 hardware and of course Linux specifically. To be considered for this position, you will need to be able to clearly articulate a tuning strategy along with all the necessary components to verify and achieve the firms low-latency trading goals.

Requirements:

• Advanced knowledge of Linux (RedHat 9, Debian/Ubuntu, Arch, Raspbian) engineering and internals.
• Advanced capability with: Python, BASH, GCC, and a familiarity with C is ideal.
• Experience with Linux kernel.org (ver. 6+) & familiarity with Intel hardware, internals, tuning.
• Experience overclocking Intel CPUs and an understanding of hardware capabilities (CPUs, DDR4/5 tuning).
• Polished Communication and Interpersonal skills along with a can-do attitude.
• Bachelor’s, master’s or PhD level degree in computer science, mathematics or other relevant fields.
• A history of good tenure in your career history (e.g., 4+ years average ideal).
• The ability to think critically in a high-paced, constantly changing environment; a sense of urgency is a must.
• Knowledge of/passion for the latest relevant technology trends with the goal to reduce latency, improve performance, enhance manageability; propose, evaluate, and implement new solutions.
• Experience within a high performance, low latency dependant environment such as financial markets, betting or other industry sectors with a ‘high demand’ on technology.
• Experience with FPGA technology (firmware loading, monitoring, test scripts, automation) highly regarded.
