We are a major player in the Life & Health reinsurance market in Australia and New Zealand and we have the benefit of being small and nimble but with the financial backing of one of the largest reinsurers in the world. We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Life & Health subsidiary in Sydney which plays a major part in the success of Hannover Re globally.

We are seeking an IWB Project Manager to join our team. Internal Work Bench (IWB) is the global underwriting tool replacing our homegrown Underwriting Workflow.

The role will be a fixed-term 1 year contract position reporting directly to our Head of Projects & Innovation.

This role is a part-time opportunity working 14 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

About the role

As an IWB Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring delivery of the project.

You will be supporting the business, business analyst/s and project team in analysis of business needs, stakeholder engagement, project delivery and issue, risk, resources, quality, budget management reporting and operational excellence for projects.

Your day may look a little like:
  • Planning, scheduling, tracking and communicating project timelines, milestones, data governance and deliverables using appropriate project tools
  • Managing daily workflow ensuring deadlines are met
  • Developing and delivering solutions within required timeframes
  • Conducting reviews of current business processes and making appropriate recommendations for improvements that drive continuous improvement and innovation
  • Contributing to technology solutions from assessment, implementation and rollout
  • Leading project planning sessions and managing expectations from and communicating with stakeholders
  • Conducting and documenting risk identification and analysis
  • Testing on developments ensuring they meet the requirements and objectives
  • Conducting project reviews and creating detailed reports for executive staff
  • Preparing papers, action tracking and register management
  • Delivering training to internal staff on developments

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
  • Identifying opportunities and continuing to improve ways of working that remove waste, duplication and or risk and improve team, customer and/or business outcomes
  • Ensuring business process and documentation is kept up-to-date

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

You will need to have:
  • Experience in project management with a proven track record of delivering results
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Formal qualifications in Project Management - PRINCE2 or PMBOK or related qualification is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Professional integrity
  • Exceptional planning and organising skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and engagement skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage various project elements simultaneously
  • Capacity and resilience to manage high stress situations, with demonstrated conflict resolution skills
  • Good judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
