Job Description An opportunity exists for an energetic and enthusiastic Economist to join our Sydney office. The duties of an Economist are varied and include the analysis of countries and sub-national regions across the Asia-Pacific. The position requires the production of regular high-quality written commentary in a timely manner on a broad range of economic and market trends, while also producing baseline and alternative scenario forecasts under tight deadlines using our global macroeconomic forecast model.
The successful candidate will also work with senior staff on larger research and consulting projects and respond to client and media inquiries.
- Master's degree in economics, econometrics or a relevant discipline. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of working experience will be considered.
- Outstanding research and written communication skills, as well as a sound understanding of macroeconomics and financial markets.
- Ability to work autonomously and across geographic teams.
- Knowledge of statistics and statistical analysis.
