Our client is a well-established multinational organisation seeking a Senior Financial Reporting & Compliance Accountant to join its Melbourne finance team. This is a highly visible role, reporting directly to the CFO and offering exposure to statutory reporting, audit management, taxation compliance and financial governance across multiple jurisdictions.
Your new role
This opportunity would suit a CA/CPA-qualified accountant from a Big 4, Mid-Tier or commercial reporting background looking to take ownership of a broad technical accounting portfolio within a collaborative and high-performing finance team. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of annual statutory financial statements and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Coordination of external audits and management of auditor relationships.
- Supporting corporate tax compliance, tax effect accounting and tax reporting activities.
- Partnering with global finance and tax teams on reporting and compliance requirements.
- Supporting financial reporting obligations across Australia and international entities.
- Assisting with implementation of new accounting standards and reporting changes.
- Maintaining strong governance frameworks, internal controls and audit documentation.
- Identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives across reporting and compliance functions.
- CA/CPA with 5+ years' experience within financial reporting, statutory accounting and/or external audit.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and corporate tax compliance.
- Experience preparing statutory financial statements and managing year-end audit processes.
- Exposure to SOX controls or a strong governance and compliance environment.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Direct reporting line to the CFO.
- Broad exposure across financial reporting, audit and tax.
