The Role We have two exciting 12-month contracts available for Portfolio Managers within the Quantitative Equities Team. Associate to Director Level. The Portfolio Manager role is responsible for daily management of the portfolios and the market with emphasis on matters related to monitoring the portfolios, deciding on corporate actions, and generally trading when needed. The successful candidates will take ownership of the following activities:
Primary Responsibilities: - Daily monitoring of the portfolio returns, positions, corporate actions and benchmark index changes and determining and carrying out trades when needed
- Rebalancing portfolios via running an optimizer to calculate trades and then checking and implementing them.
- Checking and authorizing trades calculated by other team members.
- Monthly reporting, analysis, attribution, commenting.
- Keep up to date with ESG issues for stocks in the portfolios
Extensions for when time permits: - Assist with Research on products, strategies, thought leadership, white papers.
- Assist with product marketing, business development, growing funds under management.
Key Skills and Experience - Tertiary qualifications in commerce, economics, finance, or related field.
- Post-graduate qualifications are preferred.
- SIA/CFA qualifications highly regarded.
- Significant related industry experience; Ideally seeking 10+ years. (Director), ideally seeking 7+ years (Associate Director), 3+ years (Associate).
- Significant experience with managing equities portfolios, experience with quantitative portfolios preferred.
- Experience communicating with clients and responding to client requests.
- Exceptional finance knowledge and a deep understanding of equities markets.
- Strong portfolio management skills.
- Experience using Aladdin PM system and Axioma Optimiser are highly regarded.
- Results and outcomes focused.
- Strong communicator, curious and inquisitive mindset.
