Immediately available Legal and Compliance Counsel role, provide legal advice for ANZ and MEA operations. Your new company
Hays Legal has partnered with a leading Multi-National manufacturer to recruit for a Legal Counsel position. You will be working with highly qualified legal professionals specialising in commercially focused legal advice.

Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Vice President - Legal, you will handle legal and compliance matters including insurance and corporate governance matters for the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa Region. In addition, you will:
  • Provide advice in relation to applicable laws, regulations and company policies
  • Review contracts and provide legal advice for ANZ and MEA operations
  • Support new business initiatives and propose legally compliant plans
  • Provide compliance support and guidance and create measures to minimise compliance risks, liaising with other corporate and regional functions and applicable authorities as required
  • Provide training to employees and third parties, conduct investigations of compliance cases
  • Conduct regular compliance audits to identify and mitigate potential risks
  • Implement corporate compliance policies and procedures and develop local policies based on risks and needs
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you will have:
  • A legal qualification and a current Australian Legal Practising Certificate
  • At least 3 years' PQE
  • Fluency in verbal and written Mandarin
  • Working knowledge of US SOX and FCPA, other anti-corruption laws, and implementation of related compliance programs
  • Experience working on cross-border legal and compliance matters
  • Willing to travel across the region
