Engineering Tech Lead, Digital Banking

As an Engineering Tech Lead
, your mission is to design, build, manage and support technical assets and solutions that enrich our customers online digital banking experience. You’ll be a role model for our ways of working and be passionate about coaching, mentoring and developing others to be the best versions of themselves. You will provide technical guidance and leadership, seeking feedback and providing feedback to others to help them learn and grow every-day.
As an Engineer
in the Digital Banking services team, you’ll be working as part of a high performing cross-functional team building a suite of omni-channel microservices and progressive components within our mobile app, to enhance how our customers interact with ANZ. You’ll create a lasting impact by:
Building and leveraging a combination of microservices and packaged solutions to deliver a broad range of business services. These solutions will require integration into core banking solutions and third parties. Having a strong technical appreciation of working within cloud environments, a deep understanding of modern coding practices and languages, and an ability to interface into third-party service providers, is a central component of this role.
There is an expectation that you will have a strong understanding of the underlying technologies that make up your domain and have an ability to build strong engineering disciplines within your team. You’ll also be required to engage a number of value stream leaders and translate requirements into common re-usable technical capabilities. What you’ll bring with you:
- Previous experience as a strong Technical Lead will be highly regarded.
- A deep appreciation for building backend services and API’s for third party consumption.
- A strong and in-depth understanding of cloud, CI/CD practices, and modern development practices. Tooling such as Git/GitHub, Bamboo/Jenkins, Gradle, NPM/Yarn, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, SonarQube, etc.
- Experience in setting up, operating and monitoring a technical platform and its associated technologies.
- Capability to question the status quo, challenge yourself and the business on the value that will be delivered to our customers
- Ability to build and manage and mentor a team of engineers.
