Join a well-established Victorian organisation delivering essential services to the community. You'll be part of a Technology, Transformation and Operations function focused on modernising technology, reducing legacy infrastructure risk and strengthening cyber security maturity.
Your new role
As the Technical Project Manager, you will lead complex technology projects from initiation through to implementation and closure, working closely with infrastructure, security, application, executive and third-party teams. You'll take ownership of:
- Delivering technical projects across cyber security, infrastructure modernisation, cloud migration and legacy decommissioning.
- Managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, technical dependencies, risks and governance.
- Partnering with infrastructure and security teams to translate technical requirements into clear delivery plans.
- Managing vendors and reviewing technical specifications, service agreements and integration requirements.
- Coordinating implementation, deployment and operational handover.
- Providing clear reporting and influencing senior stakeholders on technical risks, priorities and investment decisions.
- Ensuring delivery aligns with technology roadmaps, security requirements, project governance and ITIL principles.
- Extensive experience in Technical Project Management, IT project delivery or technical leadership.
- Strong experience delivering complex projects involving cyber security maturity, Essential Eight, IAM, infrastructure modernisation, cloud migrations or legacy decommissioning.
- Strong technical understanding across infrastructure, networks, applications and security.
- Proven end-to-end project delivery experience, including governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement and reporting.
- Experience managing project budgets, vendors and contract requirements.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with ITIL frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving and influencing skills.
- Relevant technology or project delivery certifications such as Microsoft, Azure, Cisco, ITIL, PRINCE2 or PMP.
- Exposure to Microsoft AI/Copilot, cloud transformation, cyber security or digital workplace programs, along with security certifications such as CISSP, CISM or Security+, would be advantageous
- Long term contract with high potential for extensions
- Strong exposure to senior stakeholders and meaningful technology modernization initiatives
- Work across critical infrastructure, security and transformation programs
