Your new company

Hays have partnered with Australia's leading employment agency during an exciting period of growth to seek an established Service Desk Team Lead to join their CBD team. Your new role

You will lead a tight-knit team of service desk and desktop professionals from the front, showcasing your leadership skills and being unafraid to get on the tools and dig into the technical side of things as well. Your daily responsibilities will include:
  • Advising your team on technical and operational procedures, working closely with the CIO
  • Manage team in achieving targets
  • Actively communicate with your team to ensure user issues are addressed in a timely manner, as well as liaise with management staff to ensure the needs of your team and customers are met
  • Provide constructive feedback
  • Review personal performance against criteria
  • Offer support with all in-house technologies as directed, and assist team when needed
What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced Service Desk Manager who is a real people person, with articulate communication and an ability to tailor messages to a variety of stakeholders. You will have a love for the technical side of IT, with service desk in your background, and will be happy to help your team out as needed. Your key skills and qualifications will include, but are not limited to:
  • Previous experience in an IT Manager role
  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and advanced time management
  • Can effectively manage group dynamics and command attention in group settings
  • Solid understanding of the Microsoft stack, including Office365 administration, Windows server, Exchange Mail, Networking, Cabling, and Telephony
  • Related tertiary qualifications are desirable, but not essential
