Project Manager 18 month contract based in Ipswich Your new company
Hays Technology have partnered with a highly sought-after local council for a Project Manager position based in Ipswich. This is an initial 18 month contract with potential extension.

Your new role

Manage the significant and complex technology and business change project through major transformation in line with industry practice and according to endorsed methodologies and utilising internal standards and processes.

Leading and managing multidisciplinary resources to successfully deliver the project that include product owners, testing and assurance, business analysis and organisational change.

Develop, maintain, and communicate the project plan, underpinned by good practice, including schedules, budgets, resources, risks, issues, benefits, stakeholders.

Develop and control project budgets, undertaking monthly re-forecasting, and managing expenditure within agreed spending plans.

Schedule, review, monitor and evaluate project progress, including schedule, budget, risks and issues, and report on such to key stakeholders and project governance bodies.

Work with Change team to develop stakeholder and change plans and manage stakeholder relationships and expectations to ensure the delivery of the required Project outcomes.

Undertake vendor and contract management required for the delivery of projects. This will include detailed operational management of vendor lead implementation with responsibility to manage vendor performance in line with appropriate standards and contractual terms.

Inform and support effective project and program governance, working to Project Control Group and operating as part of a broader program of work

Build and sustain positive relationships with team members and stakeholders, consult and involve others, provide support to others when required and recognise their contributions

Contribute to the ongoing improvement of existing team processes and program structures where necessary.

Support effective management and documentation of all aspects of Project Management

What you'll need to succeed

Experience operating within large and complex ICT programs of work

Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate with business staff to help move the assigned deliverables forward
