Senior Financial Accountant

Location: Double Bay, Sydney
Work Arrangement: Full-time | 5 days per week in the office

An established and growing Sydney-based organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join its finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a hands-on role offering broad exposure across multiple entities, with responsibility for financial reporting, month-end processes, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Opportunity

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead month-end and year-end close across multiple entities
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
• Prepare statutory financial statements and support external reporting requirements
• Prepare and lodge BAS/IAS returns
• Review interest calculations, loan positions, and reconciliations
• Act as the key finance contact for external audits, preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor queries
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure finance policies and procedures remain up to date
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
• Support the CFO with ad hoc financial analysis and finance projects

About You:

To be successful, you will have:

• CA or CPA qualification (or near completion)
• 3+ years' experience in a financial accounting role
• Experience working across multiple entities or group structures
• Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, and month-end close experience
• Exposure to statutory reporting, audits, and tax compliance
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using accounting systems such as MYOB Acumatica, Xero, or similar
• Excellent attention to detail with a strong controls mindset
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to work closely with senior stakeholders

Experience within financial services, funds management, lending, or similarly structured environments will be highly regarded.
