Senior Financial Accountant
Location: Double Bay, Sydney
Work Arrangement: Full-time | 5 days per week in the office
An established and growing Sydney-based organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join its finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a hands-on role offering broad exposure across multiple entities, with responsibility for financial reporting, month-end processes, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Opportunity
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead month-end and year-end close across multiple entities
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
- Prepare statutory financial statements and support external reporting requirements
- Prepare and lodge BAS/IAS returns
- Review interest calculations, loan positions, and reconciliations
- Act as the key finance contact for external audits, preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor queries
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure finance policies and procedures remain up to date
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
- Support the CFO with ad hoc financial analysis and finance projects
About You:
To be successful, you will have:
- CA or CPA qualification (or near completion)
- 3+ years' experience in a financial accounting role
- Experience working across multiple entities or group structures
- Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, and month-end close experience
- Exposure to statutory reporting, audits, and tax compliance
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using accounting systems such as MYOB Acumatica, Xero, or similar
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong controls mindset
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to work closely with senior stakeholders
Experience within financial services, funds management, lending, or similarly structured environments will be highly regarded.
