Our teams are growing and we are looking for a DevOps Engineer in our London office. This position will be responsible for providing detailed technical guidance and direction regarding the overall hosting platform strategy and approach while managing, researching, and developing systems platforms which support all business initiatives. 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Assist in the design, building and ongoing maintenance of the IT infrastructure supporting the eFC brand.
  • Refactor existing infrastructure to improve its ability to provide a resilient, self-healing service for the eFC service.
  • Design and build new automated infrastructure for any additional services the brands develop in the future.
  • Provide training / documentation to other operational staff who will support these services during non-business hours, such that they will be able to resolve any urgent issues which may arise without your immediate assistance.
  • Ensure automation is at the heart of the infrastructure being used by the brand.
  • Be embedded with the brand development teams – attend standups, planning meetings, etc. as required.
  • Share best practices identified in daily work with other GTO system engineers to increase the embedded company skills / knowledge / expertise.
  • Suggest alternative strategies for IT infrastructure configuration, based on your own experience and research.
  • Experience working in a devops environment in a team containing multiple skill sets across; development, QA, and systems specialisations. Willing to jump in on any problem as it emerges.
  • Take part in operational duties, supporting all DHI products and services based in the London office (BrightMatter Lengo, BrightMatter WorkDigital, Dice International and eFC).  This involves participating in an on-call rota as part of a team of six.

 Job Qualifications

  • Experience working in a devops environment in a team containing multiple skill sets across; development, QA, and systems specialisations. Willing to jump in on any problem as it emerges.
  • Good experience in Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (Cloud Formation, Terraform).
  • Experience working as part of a modern development team; working knowledge of pair programming, testing best practices, automation, peer review.
  • Practical experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP, TDD).
  • Understanding of modern CI & CD tools and techniques (Jenkins, Travis, Solano CI, AWS Code Deploy, AWS Code Pipelines).
  • Experience working with Docker / Kubernetes.
  • Experience with version control systems (git or similar).
  • Configuration management with Puppet/Chef/Salt/Ansible.  Puppet expertise preferred.
  • Experience using monitoring tools in large scale environments containing ephemeral hardware; (AppDynamics, DataDog, CloudWatch, opensource tooling).
  • Experience with resilience testing tools (Chaos Monkey or similar).
