Statistical Arbitrage - Linux Engineer
The Statistical Arbitrage (Stat Arb) Team of our global quantitative trading firm is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator with exceptional low-level knowledge and skills in Linux and automation. As a key member of the Stat Arb team, you will be responsible for supporting the hardware and systems used for a highly successful electronic trading desk. This role will be responsible for ensuring optimal operation of the trading hardware, systems/environment, automating & improving daily processes and developing tools to analyse trading performance. The successful candidate will be required to liaise with both internal and external groups to achieve their goals, so strong communication skills are essential.

What we're looking for
- Degree qualified in a technical field
- 2-5 years' experience as a Linux Systems Administrator
- Thorough knowledge of Linux OS fundamentals
- Thorough knowledge of Networking concepts
- Relevant experience in scripting and automation ideally in Python or bash
- Familiar with Change Management and comfortable working close in a production environment
- Enjoy problem solving and demonstrate attention to detail
- Have a strong desire to master the low-level detail while also being able to see the big picture
It's a Bonus if you also have:
- Experience with system automation tools such as Puppet
- Experience with manipulation and query of data with script languages, e.g. Python
